Ronit Elkabetz (27 November 1964 – 19 April 2016) was an Israeli actress and movie director. She worked in both Israeli and French cinema. She won three Ophir Awards and received a total of seven nominations. She was born in Beersheba. In 1994 she starred in Sh'Chur. In 2008 she and Shlomi finished their second movie, Shiva ("Seven Days"), which won the Wolgin Award for Best Feature Film at the 2008 Jerusalem Film Festival.[1]

She died of lung cancer on 19 April 2016, aged 51.[2][3]
